Why are we building this pitch?
While we have handed over these fantastic kits, boots, and equipment, we have jointly learnt with the local community that there is a lack of space and infrastructure for boys and girls to participate in sports. Through the passionate voicing of the young people: “We need a facility that is our home so we can play football and a community space to come together”.
This passion inspired us and the vision for KSPA was born!
We have acquired this land in Baronti Village, in the region of Moulvibazar, Bangladesh. Over the next 3 years our plan is to turn this ragged paddy field (above) into a safe and inspiring space for the young people.
The architectural blueprint has been designed by a young, Bangladeshi graduate and the design represents the lush nature of a rural Bangladeshi village and its resources.
The building of KSPA will be influenced by local artisans to capture their inspiration and heritage and support the local economy. Further volunteer support will derive from the local community and the UK to connect and collaboratively bring the project together.
To continue to support our drive to sustainability and offset our carbon footprint, only local materials will be used, engineered by harnessing solar energy and the planting of trees around the facility.
1) Add additional soil 2) Level the pitch 3) Plant trees to strength boundary and offset our carbon footprint
